Christopher, I know you get tired of me reminding you to be careful every time you go out. Well, I do this because I want you to always remember when you are in a car with your friends you need to be careful. I want you to always hear my voice reminding you.
Last night the awful wreck just down the street ended a boy's life. That boy was just a little older than you. He chose not to be careful and made a decision that cost his life. I can not even begin to imagine what his mother is going through today.
So, I will continue to say be careful. I will also continue to remind you that one bad decision can change the rest of your life. I hope that you will continue to remember.
Love, Mom

I say the same thing to everyone in my family. I feel that besides "I love you" it's the one thing they should hear before they walk out the door.
